NEW FACILITY POINTS THE WAY FORWARD

RED Engineering has started the new year with a bang by finalising the purchase of a 1,300 sq m site that will allow the further development and expansion of its services for clients in the nuclear decommissioning and oil & gas industries.

The company has acquired a former council depot directly opposite its head office and plans to develop a new purpose-designed facility for the assembly and testing of complex equipment for its global clients.

Over the past 12 years, RED has established a reputation for world class engineering innovation for major clients in the offshore oil & gas sector and more recently helping Sellafield make nuclear decommissioning operations safer and more efficient.

In the face of the current pandemic, securing the new facility has given the RED team a huge boost, says MD Joe Orrell.

“We are all coping with exceptional challenges at the moment but as a business we remain focussed on the future. The purchase of this site opposite our head office has been a long-term goal because it will allow a whole new level of  integration in our design, build and testing process – which is crucial to the fast-track development of new technology and solutions for our clients.

“Our vision is to be a great engineering company, with great people doing great things for great clients. In recent years, our projects have required the development of increasingly sophisticated technology such as robotics and the new facility will allow us to upgrade our infrastructure as we continue to strengthen all areas of our business.”
