Smiling faces reflect good progress in 2017. We’re seeing growing demand for our services in all key markets.

Oil and Gas

With an increasing number of decommissioning projects being completed in the North Sea, RED continues to support major offshore contractors deliver challenging offshore projects. The removal of subsea structures and equipment with a lifetime’s exposure to one of the most hostile environments on earth presents unique challenges and our expert team has been developing bespoke solutions for the disconnection, lifting and sea-fastening of large subsea structures weighing up to 150 tonnes.

Offshore Renewables

RED has continued to be active in the offshore wind sector with recent projects including the development and supply of cable installation equipment to increase the efficiency of beach landing operations and the addition of a remote monitoring system to a lifting tool used for the installation of turbine foundations. In parallel, with 1,500 offshore turbines now in operation around the UK coast, RED’s ability to rapidly deliver effective solutions for ongoing operational issues has been put to good use on a number of occasions.

RED is going nuclear, entering a new market on the back of demand for its decommissioning expertise. We have recently been engaged by a number of partners to assist with the development of procedures and equipment for challenging decommissioning operations.

Testing Services

RED continues to expand the scope of services it provides at its Hexham test facility, working as a R & D partner to a number of key clients. This has included SURF product testing (fatigue, impact, friction and crush testing) and also the qualification of new products prior to first use with our capabilities to complete high temperature and high pressure testing becoming of increasing interest to our client base.

2017 has seen the transition of Red Marine to RED Engineering as we have offered our proven services to new markets and new customers. This summer I am proud to see active projects across all our key target market sectors (and others!). Our focused approach has also been recognised with a Queens Award for Innovation.
