Magnus CampbellPrincipal EngineerMagnus is a Principal Engineer who has over 21 years of industry experience. A wise engineer who’s been there, seen it, done it, working with both equipment suppliers and operators in the North East of England. Haydn FordSenior EngineerHaydn initially trained as a Naval Architect but now works as a Senior Engineer. As well as a wide range of engineering and analytical experience he has had a number of client-facing delivery roles involving the design and build of special-purpose tools and equipment. He likes fast BMW’s but is now considering more grown-up choices. Anthony ForsterTrainee Engineering TechnicianAnthony is a Trainee Engineering Technician who is working with the engineering team to gain first hand project experience alongside studying for his HNC in Mechanical Engineering at TyneMet College – he is the future… Jack HillEngineering TechnicianFollowing a career in the Defence Industry, Jack joined RED in 2013 and is a key member of the team with responsibility for the day to day operation of the Test Facility. Jack is a keen golfer with an average handicap in his day of 5-7. Will HoppsProject ManagerWill is a Project Manager with an extensive track record in offshore engineering, having spent a number of years working in Aberdeen. Originally a mechanical engineering graduate of Newcastle University, he has now returned to live and work in the North East. Ian KennedySenior EngineerDuring his varied engineering career, Ian has worked on aeronautical systems, advanced compressors, earth-moving vehicles, pipelay systems and special-purpose tools for the offshore construction industry. He is a Senior Engineer in the RED team. Richard KentEngineering DirectorRichard is one of the original founders of Red Marine and takes responsibility for quality of the work that we produce. He has an excellent track record (28 years) of innovative problem solving across a wide range of complex engineering projects. Robbie LangfordStudent Placement EngineerSponsored by RED, Robbie is currently studying a Masters Degree in General Engineering at the University of Sheffield and comes back to RED in his time off from Uni to gain first-hand experience in the Engineering sector. Robbie is currently the fastest runner in the company and also enjoys cycling and sailing. Adam LockettDesign EngineerAdam is a Design Engineer with experience in the Defence, Oil & Gas and Renewable sectors and extensive knowledge of efficient manufacturing processes. Lindsay LowesOffice ManagerLindsay has worked at RED since 2008 after spending 13 years in the Construction industry. Lindsay graduated in 2005 and is responsible for financial control of the business, and plays a key role as a member of the senior management team. Kirstie MillerOffice AdministratorKirstie has been at RED since 2011 after working in both Local Government and Hospitality. She is responsible for the day to day administration of the office and manages both the purchase ledger and payroll. Tim NewsomeLead EngineerTim’s engineering career has taken him from the automotive industry, through subsea and offshore equipment to his current role in the design of bespoke tools and test-rigs Joe OrrellManaging DirectorJoe started his career as a technician working at Newcastle University on drivetrain test rigs for clients such as Ford, NASA, and the MOD. He has a wide range of experience in the offshore sector working on subsea remote tooling, pipe lay equipment and handling systems. In 2008 Joe co-founded Red Marine and remains responsible for the way the business operates and develops into the future. Steve PocockTest Services ManagerSteve was an engineering officer in the merchant navy prior to gaining a first class degree in mechanical engineering. He now takes management responsibility of the company’s Testing Services division and workshop facility. This involves the design and build of bespoke test-rigs and the execution of arduous testing regimes on a wide variety of materials and equipment. Mark StoboPrincipal EngineerMark is proud to have made a significant contribution to equipment design and delivery as a Principal Engineer in the defence equipment, offshore oil and gas, renewables and subsea sectors. A recent first-time father, he enjoys cycling and mountain biking in the little spare time still at his disposal. Neil SouterDraughtsmanSince joining RED back in 2010, Neil has further developed his energy industry understanding and has played a fundamental role in setting up the company drafting standard procedures. Neil is a keen cyclist & regularly cycles the 50 mile round trip to work as training for racing events. Matthew ToyneEngineerMatthew is a qualified Marine Engineer, and over the past few years has become RED Engineering’s lead analyst. Although born in Yorkshire, he is secretly an American at heart. Chris WalkerDraughtsmanChris joined us in 2019 as a Draughtsman. Before joining us here at RED he completed his apprenticeship in the Marine Equipment Sector and has experience in a high number of large-scale fabrication projects throughout the whole design cycle. He is currently studying part time for his Mechanical Engineering Degree at Northumbria University. Dorian WalkerEngineerSince starting at RED in 2013, Dorian has accumulated a wide range of engineering knowledge. Predominately based in the Test Facility Dorian has been involved in a wide variety of testing, including pressure testing, life fatigue testing and friction testing, in addition to implementing control systems by creating bespoke LabVIEW programs.
